Aaron Mastin is a costume, scenic and projections designer based in New York, NY and the Washington, DC metro area. His previous engagements have included major motion pictures, documentaries, television series, Broadway shows, and many regional and local theatre projects.
Aaron believes that scenic and costume design are not only tools to create beauty and awe, but also vehicles by which we can better communicate with and understand the world around us. Girded by extensive research, his personal design approach is aimed at extracting specific visual gestures to convey narrative and character in a nuanced, sophisticated way. He finds that compelling visual storytelling is best achieved through close and honest collaboration among fellow artists and by executing bold design choices, developed through deep exploration of text—be it written, composed, or choreographed.
